July 10, 2008: Roger Dean Nelson, 52, of Beloit, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 10, 2008 in his home. Roger was born November 23, 1955 in Beloit, WI, the son of Roy and Dorothy (Smith) Nelson. He grew up in Beloit and during his youth was a member of the Beloit Boys Choir. June 3, 2007: Raphael Cornford, son of Karen Balke ('74) graduates with honors from St. Mary's College High School, in Berkeley, CA. He has accepted admission from the University of California at Santa Cruz, where he'll major in studio art. Immediately after the graduation ceremony, violinist Mom plays a concert in San Francisco, Berlioz and Sibelius. Big day for Raphael, his mother, and his grandparents (Carl & Carol Balke of Beloit). Champagne all around!

April 5, 2007: Leah Tangye and Craig Carter are engaged to be wed in the summer of 2007. Parents of the couple are Robert ('74) and Terese Tangye of Rockton, IL, and Bill and Nancy Dinges and Steve and Polly Carter. The bride-to-be is an Illinois State University graduate. Her fiance graduated from Northern Illinois University. She is a teacher for the Rockton School District. He is a teacher for the Belvidere (IL) School District. The couple met and dated while attending Hononegah High School in Rockton, IL. They will honeymoon in Mexico.

March 17, 2007: Nicholas and Peter Hadjokas, sons of Byron Hadjokas ( '74 ), are freshmen members of the Emmaus Green Hornets ( Emmaus, Pennsylvania ) 2006-2007 PIAA Boys Swimming and Diving State Champions. Also on the team, freshman Anthony Primelo, son of Susan Hauser Primelo ( Beloit Catholic alum ).

July 8, 2006: Kristin Zank, daughter of Julie Kilbey Zank ('74) and Jeff Zank ('73), married Ryan Turner at St. Jude Church in Beloit. A reception was held at Pearson Hall at the Beloit College. The couple honeymooned in Kauai, Hawaii before returning home to Madison, Wisconsin. Kristin is employed by the Department of Natural Resources and Ryan at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.
